The boundaries we encounter in our lives manifest themselves in a variety of ways, whether they be physical or emotional, large or small, self-imposed or thrust upon us. The occurrences of the past year created a boundary of isolation and frustration for me that led to a sense of confinement and removal from the outside world. Sometimes that boundary was literal, like the need to wear a mask and physically distance. Other times, it was a creation of my own limitations to deal with what was happening around me. These boundaries served a purpose by creating a space where I could exist and live. They allowed me to move forward, sometimes two steps forward, sometimes one step back.
