7 DEADLY SINS

The Metropolitan Museum of Art placed almost 400,000 images of its artwork in the public domain for unrestricted use.  This created a veritable goldmine of eye candy to play with.  I chose engravings of the Seven Deadly Sins by Pieter van der Heyden for my first dip in the pool, as I have always been fascinated by the visual complexity and level of allegory and metaphor in imagery of this time period. I also find these images to be timeless and still speak to our society today. This visual exploration resulted in digital collage that combines 16th century etchings with my own photography.
